China

Early contacts were with the China National Education Committee and Prof. Shiyi Lu, of Academica Sinica.

The Chapter was established 1988

The Chapter created two entities WCPSCC (for WCPS China Chapter) and - in response to a letter in May 1989 from Krish Pennathur, then President of WAPS, the WAPS China Branch.

In 1996, Professors Xingqian Yu and Shoubin Hu wrote to Andre Miller, then Secretary General of WCPS, advising that Prof. Shiyi Lu was quite ill and suggesting that future correspondence was through themselves.

The primary contact within WCPSCC subsequently changed to:

Sun Cheng
Secretary-General, WCPSCC
No. 5 West Street
Wanshou Road
Beijing, China

As China developed, and as the relationships between WCPS and China also developed, two more Network Partners were added.

The Hong Kong Productivity Council

Yau Yat Chuen

The Chinese Association of Productivity Science
Room 318

Both these organisations were heavily involved in the organisation of the XIIth Congress in 2001.

Key players in the organization of the Congress from the HKPC were Henry Ching, Thomas Tang and Edmund Sung supported by Cindy Lui and Anna Choi.

The key player for CAPS has always been the Secretary-General of the organisation. The first Secretary-General with whom WCPS dealt was Fang JinRong (who was Secretary-General when CAPS was invited to become a Network Partner in 2000). Network Partner status was granted in August, 2000. Fang JinRong was followed as Secretary-General by Zhang Sai in 2001, and he was in turn followed by Chen Shengchang.
