PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
Carl Thor

Though it is sometimes still viewed as a minor technical sideshow, performance measurement can and should be the major aligning force of an organization. The what-to-measure issue is largely resolved through an effective and balanced strategic planning process. The how-to-measure is defined largely by behavioral parameters. Those at all levels of the organization who will use measures to run their part of the organization need to define their own measures, interpret them frequently, communicate using them, drive action accordingly, and even reward and recognize success through related gainsharing systems.
