John is an internationally-recognised expert in the fields of productivity and learning and acts as an independent consultant on projects that involve one or both of these specialisms.

John is President of the World Confederation of Productivity Science (www.wcps.info) a global organisation linking organisations (mainly National Productivity Centres and agencies) and individuals active in productivity promotion and development.

However, John's two 'day jobs' are as Director of the National Productivity Centre in the UK (See www.natprodcentre.com) and as Director of OnlineLearn, an eLearning consultancy and design service (see www.onlinelearn.co.uk)

John is also a Board Member of the European Association of National Productivity Centres, a member of the Council of the Institute of Management Services and co-editor of the International Journal of Productivity & Performance Management.

John has a particular 'take' on productivity which is explained on the Productivity page and influences his productivity blog and his blog DoNotComplicate - aimed at trying to get the world to realise the underlying simplicity of most business issues.

In terms of learning, (not surprisingly) John is particularly interested in the productivity of learning and specialises in areas such as online and e-learning, and in the design of effective and innovative learning spaces. However, as John explains on the Learning page, he is keen to ensure that such innovations and developments are driven by pedagogic issues and the needs of learners and not the technology. John also maintains the onlineLearnblog on eLearning issues.

John is a strategic thinker and planner, particularly interested in creating facilitative infrastructures, and has advised organisations, regions and nations on both productivity and learning strategies.
