WCPS China Chapter

The WCPS and the Science & Technology committee of the People's Republic of China established the first Network Partner in China - the China Chapter of WCPS - in 1988 (referred to here as the WCPSCC).

This body has a wide range of responsibilities relating to productivity promotion, research, education and development.

The WCPSCC is an active supporter of WCPS activites and, in particular, the World Productivity Congress. From their earlier involvement (Zhou Peiyuan and Qian Weichang led delegations of 16 and 20 persons respectively to the 1988 and 1990 Congresses), they have continued to support and grow and more recently Sun Cheng led 18 delegates to the 1999 Congress in Edinburgh and Yu Xingqian and Sun Cheng led 45 delegates to the Hong Kong/Beijing Congress in 2001.

The WCPSCC receives significant recognition from the China Government and most recently, for example, Sun Fuling and Wan Guoquan, both Deputy Chairman of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, made a point of congratulating new Fellows of the World Academy of Productivity Science appointed in 2001 and recognised at the World Productivity Congress.
