Archive of Chapters and Network Partners

Introduction

The Confederation has always consisted of organizations within the Confederation itself and individuals within the Academy. These organizations are normally National Productivity Centers but can be any organization that promotes and/or develops productivity and shares the mission and aims of the WCPS.

Head of Chapter Development//President of the World Network of Productivity Organizations

The first person entrusted with the responsibility of growing the number of partners of WCPS – as Head of Chapter Development – was Brita Borge, of Norway. Brita was responsible for the establishment of the first 20 or so Chapters and was active in the Confederation from about 1983.

In March, 2000, John Heap took over the role of Chapter Development. When a decision was taken in 2002 to have multiple partnering organizations in any country, the term ‘Chapter’ was thought to be less acceptable and the term ‘Network Partner’ was adopted.

At the same time (2002), the WCPS formally re-defined the Confederation as having two Divisions:

  • the World Network of Productivity Organizations; and
  • the World Academy of Productivity science.

The term ‘Network Partner’ recognises that the WCPS wishes to be inclusive and to partner with all appropriate organizations. As from 2002, all of our partner institutions officially became Network Partners though many, for historical reasons, continue to describe themselves as Chapters.

This archive gives a very brief history of the formation of a partnership between WCPS and each of its member organizations. Occasionally, where records exist, it also gives a brief history of unsuccessful discussions aimed at creating a new partnership.
